Our workshops are highly specialised in decorative or building metalwork. We currently employ eight people in our workshops, all of whom have been qualified or trained by us to handle and resolve all the technical or artistic problems specific to this trade.
All of the balustrades, mezzanine and terrace guard rails, metal stairs, gates and fences, hoods for open hearth fires, furniture, curtain rails, letter boxes, light fittings, trophies, sculptures, etc. are, in 99% of cases created by us, less frequently by an architect or decorator. We are able to produce traditional, period or contemporary decorative metalwork in either painted mild steel or stainless steel.
Our traditional and period metalwork elements, whether new or requiring restoration, are generally decorated with wrought iron elements, all of which we make ourselves, including various forms of volute, hail heads, spiral twisted elements, etc.
This allows us to get away from standard components and results in a greater harmony of design.
This expertise also allows us to avoid using factory-made prefabricated elements, the style of which is often ill suited to a given region (these models are frequently of gothic or Tyrolean baroque inspiration and produced to a poor standard of workmanship in Eastern block or developing countries). The diversity and the originality of these productions are limited to the pages of a few catalogues all offering more or less the same thing, which will never have the same character and personality of hand forged metalwork.
Our contemporary metalwork is designed to be in perfect harmony with modern architecture, combining apparent lightness and sobriety. Their originality lies in the detail: the connection of a baluster to a handrail, the combination of materials such as enamel painted steel and brushed stainless steel, stainless steel cables, wood or glass. The pure lines of contemporary metalwork do not tolerate the slightest surface defect, whether its a scratch or a visible and unsightly weld, and it is this that gives our balustrades, stairs, gates, balconies and other elements all their charm.
